Gulf Mapping includes data and software designed to be used for fishing and recreation purposes.

Users can view a variety of interactive maps including bathymetric data, gps locations, navigational

charts, offshore platforms, very high resolution seafloor models for selected banks, and general trip

planning information. 

Coverage is the US coastline for high resolution bathymetric data, numerous banks in the Gulf of Mexico

for very high resolution data, and the entire earth for medium resolution bathymetric data (includes land elevations as well).

Data coordinate system - Lat/Lon WGS84 (world geodetic survey 1984).

Coordinates in decimal degrees, degrees minutes seconds, and decimal minutes (standard gps format).

The datasets have been carefully converted to WGS 84 from various coordinate systems ensuring accurate positions.

The disc includes a trial version of Global Mapper.  Users need not register or purchase the full version.

Most users will be able to accomplish all the mapping capabilities needed.  However, if you find that you

use Global Mapper often, or would like to access all features, it may be purchased HERE.

Mac users must install a PC Emulator.
